What makes a trustworthy family!

Good families are built on strong relationships with good communication. Family is about trust, honesty, loyalty, respect and love.

Trust impacts the strength of a good family. It's also important to show faith and respect to your relatives and never lie to your family. As an example, you see your mother's wallet and you look through and you see a $10 note. You take that $10 note and use it to buy food. Once you return, your mother asks you where her $10 is. You feel anxious and nervous and so you blame your siblings for taking it. Don't lie about something you did, it's better to take responsibility for your own choices.

Love is also a requirement of a good family. You should always show aroha and mana to your family and especially your parents. Always help your mother clean the house or help your father do the garden or even share your belongings with your younger siblings.

Spending time with your family is more important than spending time on your device. Families help you through everything and there is no perfect family in this world every family is special.

Treasure Box!

As I lay on the stone cold floor the bombs get louder and louder. I snuggle up against my father, feeling frightened that I will never be awakened from my slumber!.

Everywhere I look, buildings are collapsing, bombs erupting and people rushing out of their houses. As I dash quickly out of my village, I stop and think, where are my friends? I turn back trying to find them, but it is hard to see through the smoke and fire that floats through the air. I decided to continue on my way out. As I look back, I see, horrified, that soldiers are throwing bombs and shooting everywhere.

It has been days and my feet are burning, stomach is aching, skin is dry and my body is weak. We finally made it to a new but dilapidated village. It was huge and frightening but it was enough for us to stay in for the night. I woke up in the middle of the night, thinking that I might find my mother here. I searched and searched but no matter how hard I tried, I still couldn't find her. We were all woken up with the sound of bombing, it got closer and closer so we all evacuated quickly and started to continue our journey. I heard the sound of coughing and sniffing from my father, but I didn't really think about it. All I was thinking about was trying to save my father and myself.

Hours passed by and the sound of coughing continued. I started to get worried and stressed because my father looked really pale and weak. He handed me a strange box that was wrapped in a thick cloth and said, "This is a book about our people, about us. It is rarer than rubies, more splendid than silver and greater than gold." I didn't have time to read it because as I turned my head to see my father, he was lying on the ground taking his last breath closing his eyes slowly. His friends helped me bury him with a long rusty cloth. It was hard to see and it was the most horrible and heartbreaking moment I had ever been through. I decided to say a short prayer and leave a small sunflower as a reminder of us together. I continued, leaving the suitcase behind and taking the box. It was upsetting not having someone beside me but I knew that my father would be happy with me no matter what I did in life.

My journey has been stressful, without my father or mother here to encourage me through this amazing journey. I am now old enough to afford an apartment. I am currently working as a teacher. I teach others about our people from the past and the struggles they have to go through to protect themselves because they had nothing, but rusty old blankets. Every day after work, I think about visiting my father, but I never get the opportunity to, I am busy teaching or having important meetings. Today I thought, ''Should I visit my father So as I was strolling around the neighbourhood, I was thinking about visiting my father and my old village. The next morning, I was woken up by the sound of beautiful chirping.

I have decided to go back and visit my past. After many hours travelling I spotted a tree I remember burying the box under. As I get closer and closer I remember burying the book under the Linden Tree! I walk closely to the tree and I see a little girl sitting there. I asked politely if she would help me dig up the box, and she agreed. So we started to dig, using a trowel. The little girl asked, ''will there be rubies, silver or gold inside?" Once we found it, I told her that, ''this book, it is rarer than rubies, more splendid that silver and greater than gold. This book is about our people and us!" Once the little girl was satisfied, she left and told her family.

I was excited to see my beloved father. I arrived, I told my father what I had been doing these past few years and what I am doing for a living. After talking for a while, I decided to visit my old village. As I looked closely, I see the new and colorful changes that had happened. I searched and searched to see where my old house was, but as I tried and tried harder I still couldn't find it. It was like my memories got wiped. I didn't really think much about it, but I was devastated and upset that I couldn't remember.

Finally it was time I put the treasured book back into the new and secure library, and let generations read it.

THE END!!

Thank you for taking your time to read my interesting and shocking narrative. It took me days to complete this so leave a helpful, kind and thoughtful comment on what your opinion was on my writing.

Treasure Box

Father is sick!!

As I snuggle up with dad in this old shed, I feel his hot forehand and his warm hands overheating my body. Its been an hour and it has been stoney silence. I felt worried and weak that I may not be able to speak to my father again.

The Burial Day!!

I feel heart broken, lost and consumed looking down at my father. My eyes can see the dry mud surrounding my father as he lays inside a dusty thin sheet. I burst into tears as I see him go. I walk away, I feel gloomy and depressed, now I'm all alone.

Treasure Box!

During this horrible attack, I see other villages running as quick as they can to escape this terrifying moment. As I am running out, I can hear people crying, screaming and shouting at each other to hurry up!. While I'm running, trying to escape I feel scared and terrified because it might be my last days on earth. As I turn around trying to look for my family, I smell smoke from the bombs and burning houses.

The road is hot and steamy from the burning sun. My shoes are ripped from all the running and tripping. My feet are feeling exhausted just  like me. As I try my best to keep walking and shelter for myself, I hear the shooting and explosion from a mile away, I see the blood dripping on the ground from peoples injuries. Night past by, and everyone's asleep. As we gather together my back hurts from the hard rock and pointy branches.

It's been 2 days and we've arrived to our new destination. The house is a bit rusty and the wood was all dusty. In my mind I was thinking about continuing, but the weather was extremely, hot I had to find a house to stay in. I was excited that we found a new village but worried that the next morning my friends and I wouldn't be able to open our eyes. The soldiers still never gave up. It was terrifying and frightening at the same time, but I kept my hopes up that I would still live.

Fact or Fiction Story!

On a warm pleasant day my family decided that we should all hangout. So we went to the Auckland Zoo!.

Before we left, we prepared us some healthy snacks. I was extremely excited because it was my first time going to the Zoo. When we arrived, my family and I started walking around. The first animal we focused on was the long neck giraffe!. After walking around the Zoo seeing different types of animals, we took 10 mins break. We started to explore more. Our next stop was to see the big grey elephant. I was so excited because I got to touch it. Next we went to the butterfly area. It was so hot but beautiful. I was so scared because a beautiful colorful butterfly landed on my hand.

Soon was the time to leave. I had so much fun I wish I could go there everyday. Before we went home we all had Mc'donalds.

Finally was the time to go home. I was very exhausted from today I went to sleep.

Fact or Fiction Story!

On a sunny Tuesday my family and I went out to celebrate my sister's 17th birthday. Our day started really great because we had Mc'donalds for breakfast.

After that, we all got prepared and headed off to Sylvia Park. When we arrived at Sylvia Park we helped my sister look for some shoes. It took us 15 mins to find the shoes she wanted. Now was the time to find my sister clothes. My family and I were very exhausted because my sister was walking around trying to buy more and more clothes. Finally came the best part, we finally went to the movies. At the movies we watched Aladdin. It was such a fascinating movie.

Later on, we all went to eat at a restaurant. The food was tasty and tempting I wish I could take it home. Once the food was digested in our stomach it was time to go home and blow out the candle on the cake.

The day was over and my family and I were extremely tired we went to sleep.

Have A Go Sailing!!

On Wednesday 1st of May, my class and I was invited to sail at Okahu Bay. It has been my second year sailing and I have enjoyed it so much. This was an amazing opportunity for those who haven't sailed before and for us because we had been on our chromebooks the day before and we all needed a day out.

It took us about 15 minutes to arrive there. During those 15 minutes I have been so nervous and so scared that I might drown. We finally arrived at Okahu Bay. Once we were there our first step was introducing ourselves to our instructors, Steve, JR and Justin. After this the instructors showed us how to rig a sailing boat. There were different types of parts, such as the boom, mast, a figure 8 knot, tiller, rudder and the center board. When we finished learning how to prepare the boat we had morning tea. I was so anxious and scared that everything I learnt would be forgotten. After we had morning tea we put on our wetsuit and a life jacket. My partner and I did not have a boat so we went on a more complicated boat. It was called a Topaz (Taz), which was bigger than the Optimist and had no back on it. Once we were ready we used a trailer to drag our boat onto the water.

When we went on the water I was really scared and agitated. But a few minutes later I felt alright. We had 2 hours of sailing. During those 2 hours my partner and I learnt how to turn around and how to switch directions from left to right and right to left. I was having fun until our boat started to lean into the water and that's when I felt like I was going to die. Splash, and my partner and I were both in the water. When I was in the water I wasn't scared because I had my life jacket on and I felt protected.

When our 2 hours were done we went back to the shore and had a healthy lunch. After having a delicious lunch, our coaches Steve, JR and Justin told us how to capsize. It was time to go out and capsize our boats. First my partner and I went to a deep area of the ocean to capsize. I had to stand up and walk to the front of the boat and tilt the boat forward. Once our boat had tipped over we had to go to the back of the boat and pull down the center board so that it could pull the boat back up. Now that the boat was back up my partner had to get back on the boat and take out all the water before I got in.

It was time to go back to school. But first we received certificate from our impressive coaches, Steve, Jr and Justin. Our day was over but at least I cherished the best moments of my life.
Many thanks to the Lion Foundations, Rotary, Volvo and Zhik for sponsoring the day.

My opinion of Jacinda Ardern!

I designed my word art to describe  Jacinda Ardern. I formed this opinion after listening when she spoke after the disaster in Christchurch 15/3/19 and her speech during International Woman's Day 2019. Jacinda Ardern is a strong and caring person. She spoke about the issue in Christchurch and told everyone that the man who caused the issue should remain nameless and that we should mention the people who have lost their lives and the heroes who had saved others.

How to make a fun Saint Patrick playdough!

On a fantastic Saint Patrick Day my class and I made Play Dough. I was so excited to make play dough with my friends. In this activity we made edible GREEN play dough. But don't worry because no one ate it.

First we mixed all the dry ingredients. Once that was all finished we added boiling water to it to form a dough. Then the best part came when we added green food colouring. After we had finished mixing all the ingredients it was time to create the pretty green dough. Our playdough was a bit sticky, so we kept on adding flour, and it worked.

Once our playdough was ready to play with, our teacher came with some shiny, beautiful green glitter. Now our playdough looked even prettier than before. When all the glitter was mixed in well, my group and I went in with our hands and played with it. The playdough was so soft and so stretchy.

Then it was time to play a game with the playdough. Everyone was told to create a large spiral. We split the playdough so that everyone could roll a long thick strip. Once the playdough was extended enough we connected all the long green glittery snake strips to create our spiral. Our teacher came around with foam balls and straws. The activity was the first person to blow their foam ball using the straw into the middle wins. It was so fun competing with my friends. It got a bit boring so we divided the playdough and started to make our own obstacle course. We kept recreating our obstacle course so that it could be continually even more challenging.

Now it was time to pack up. I had fun creating and playing with playdough. It was so fun making playdough with my group.

How can we get rid of bacteria that may cause disease?

It's important to wash your hands to eliminate bacteria which can spread to our bodies causing sickness and disease.

Washing your hands is important because if we don't wash our hands then the germs from our hands will spread to others. Washing your hands after you go to toilet, change a nappies, picking up rubbish etc is the most important thing to do because if you touch your eye, your nose or your mouth you could get infected.

Bacteria can also spread to other people by your own dirty hands. When you touch your friend or something that belongs to your friend they can become infected too. Pinworm eggs can also be transferred from animals to human hands and then ingested. The eggs hatch into worms which lay
more eggs. Pinworms can make you, hungry, tired and very sick.

It is important to wash your hands to eliminate bacteria and germs or eggs from our skin. By doing this we help stop spreading sickness to all those around us.
