Chaos = A mess

Decomposing = Rotting

Fetid = Smelly

Filthy = Dirty

Strewn = Thrown

Mingled = Mixed

Dishevelled = Messy

Malodorous = Stink

Stench = Stinking

Laying down the law = Insisting on rules

Incarcerated = Locked

Shipshape = Tidy

Hygienic = Clean
